A graduate of Englewood School (now Dwight-Englewood School) and Princeton University, Karl Zimmermann also holds an M. A. in English from New York University. Before joining Browning Associates in 1989, he worked for 25 years at three independent schools--Dwight-Englewood, Lake Forest Academy-Ferry Hall, and The Masters School--where he served as English teacher, coach, advisor, dean of students, upper-school head, assistant head, acting head, and director of development. A life-long railroad enthusiast, he has written 20 books about trains. His articles on this and other subjects have appeared in magazines and newspaper travel sections across the country.
